Client care
Pet sitter report cards: what to include so owners feel at ease
November 6, 2026 · 4 min read · By the Tendling team
A report card is the moment a client sees your care. A good one is short, specific and warm. Here is what to include after every visit.
The essentials
Owners mainly want to know their pet is safe, fed and happy. Cover those first.
- Arrival and departure time
- Food and water
- Pee and poo
- Medications given
- Mood and energy
One or two good photos
A clear photo of the pet relaxed or playing says more than a paragraph. Skip photos that show the home's address, alarm panel or keys.
A personal note
Add one specific detail: the squirrel Biscuit chased, the window Luna napped by. Specific details show you were paying attention.
Anything that needs attention
If something seems off, like low appetite or a limp, say so plainly and suggest a next step. Calm, early updates build trust.
Send it quickly
Send the card before you leave or soon after. Tools that draft the card from your visit notes save time, but always read and approve it before it goes to the client.
